Construction damage during trees happens all the time. It’s not on purpose, it’s just the amount of equipment on site and in close proximity to one’s trees makes it all but inevitable. Wounds to trees can occur from simply driving too close to a tree or digging too closely in the ground.
Most of the damage that occurs in trees during a construction project is within their root system. The main issue here is that a tree’s roots are how it gets it’s food. Water, nutrients and anything else absorbed through the roots are what keeps your tree(s) alive and thriving. If there is damage done, a tree won’t be able to survive much longer unless it’s able to heal properly.
Scorched or wilted leaves are some of the first telltale signs of your tree being damaged after a construction project.
